To the Kings and Queens of this Beautiful race ours: Today we find ourselves in an uncomfortable yet familiar position. As in the days of old, which due to cameras have proved to not be exclusive to the civil rights era, we are being shown how much “those in power” care about us. I say those in power loosely because I know where true power lies and that is within this Beautiful race of ours. We possess the power that can shake the foundations of this world but we have been convinced we are powerless and need “those in power” to grant us the rights that were given to us by God himself.

To paraphrase Debra Dickerson “Blacks have yet to realize that their freedom isn’t whites to give, its Blacks to take.” Through propaganda and a host of sell out leaders, we have been trained to believe we must march, rally and protest to receive rights that are supposed to be inalienable. The right to live in ones skin without the fear of being killed for it is a right we should never have to defend. It is common sense and the mere fact that some europeans will justify our senseless deaths shows that either they cannot comprehend that we deserve to live or they do not care if we live. I suggest the answer is the latter.

What then do we do? How do we counter a people who have power over us? How do we change a system that was never meant to help us? How do we get those who hate us to stop killing us? The answer to these questions is we don’t; we simply cut the umbilical cord and live on our own. Never in history have the lives of the oppressed had equal values as their oppressor and never in history have the oppressed been relieved of oppression without confronting the powers that be with their own powers.

It wasn’t until Kwame Nkrumah formed a nation within a nation that Ghana was liberated. It wasn’t until the Algerian National Liberation Front formed a nation within a nation that Algeria was liberated. It was until Gasper Yanga decided he didn’t want to be a slave any longer that he created his own town where any slave could run to and be declared free once they go to him. And as some just celebrated two days ago, it wasn’t until the alleged founding fathers of this country created the USA that America was liberated from the British empire. No liberation comes without building your own nation first.

Before you get afraid I am not suggesting that we start a civil war and overthrow the government. When I say build a nation I am speaking of creating a mindset among our people where we are cohesively working together to build a networking system between ourselves where we provide for all of our own needs and do not depend on anyone else. Look at the Asians, Spanish and Indians, etc. None of them are concerned with having a president of their race so they can have rights. They all have their own self sustaining neighborhoods with their own businesses, banks, history etc. These are little nations within this nation and this is what we are lacking.

Let’s for some strange reason, after a march we are told “If you don’t like how we treat you, live on your own but you cannot receive any benefits from us.” Would we be prepared to do so? The answer is a resounding NO. As our enslaved ancestors were unequipped for freedom, currently we are too. But what we have that didn’t is money. What they had that we don’t is a sense of community.

The first thing we must do to stop Alton Sterling type incidents from happening is begin to police ourselves. We have to stand up to the ills of our own communities and say ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. I have an Aunt who has lived in a development in Deptford NJ for 20 years. I’ve spent a lot of time at her home but I have never ever seen a cop car come to her development. Reason being, the residents don’t need policing.

This is not to say these people are better than we are or we are worse than them, this is to show you that were crime isn’t prevalent police aren’t justified. I know someone might say “but in the 60s the cops were still in our neighborhoods and we weren’t committing crimes.” The fact of the matter is, that isn’t the case today but my position isn’t “If we behave better the bad cops will leave us alone” my position is it is time for us to stand up and create our own force in our own neighborhoods and give the police a date that they have to leave.

You may say “we can’t do that” well if we can’t, tell me how little towns have their own sheriffs? Tell me how communities have come together and removed themselves from the cities they were a part of? Why do you think we have so many towns, counties, municipalities, districts etc? It’s because the people came together and removed themselves. We have the power and the right to do these things also.

To the people of this Beautiful race of ours, our problem with outsiders is because we haven’t built from the inside. Yes I know Black Wall Street did build and it was burnt down but this time we must exercise of 2nd amendment right to a militia. We have our own protection so when rebuild Black Wall Street those who would want to burn it down will be afraid.

My fellow Kings and Queens, it is not time to march or rally. It is not time to protest and demand justice. It is time to take total control of our communities. It’s time to clean them and make the presentable. It’s time to help our people get off of drugs and help those selling them to find other options of making money. It’s time to have pride in ourselves and rid ourselves of self hate. It’s time to love everything about ourselves, our skin, our hair, our feature, our motherland, our history and everyone who looks like us.

We continue to speak about how cops don’t get charged for killing us. We must realize that will never change. The only thing that will give us equality in this country is our minds. We aren’t equal because we don’t think equal. We don’t think own banks, become lawyers or judges, we don’t think become doctors, we don’t think become scientist or engineers, we don’t think become architects, we don’t think about what’s best for our race first which is why every other race sees us as last.

It is time for each of us to begin to think about our race first and not just what’s good for us individually. All of our decisions need to be made with the thought “How does this affect the nation we’re building” in mind. If we really want equality, then it’s time to build things that are equal to those we want to be equal with. Nothing is going to be handed to us, so until we build, we will forever be unequal. Are you ready to build?
